The CDH Girls Swim team made history at the Minnesota State Swimming and Diving Championships held in November, 2007. Overall, the girls finished in 3rd place, but took home more 1st place finishes than any other team in the competition. Ninth grader Kiera Janzen won the State Championship in the 100 Yard Freestyle. The Relay team of Katie Spitzmueller, Kiera Janzen, Lauren Weis and Alexa O'Brien won the State Championship in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. Junior Lauren Weis won the State Championship in both the 200 Yard and 500 Yard Freestyle, breaking the All-Time State Record in both events.
Weis is pictured with flowers she received from Kirsten Wengler, a graduate of Hopkins Lindbergh High School, whose 1981 500 Yard Freestyle record was broken by Weis.
